Only 19 miles away from Lisbon is the beautiful coastal town of Cascais. Picture an idealistic and charming seaside town, with incredible beaches, whitewashed lighthouses, fisherman coming off their boats and sand dunes that stretch as far as your eyes can see. This is Cascais.

It's no wonder that Cascais was once a favoured retreat for the Portuguese royal family. Or the president of Portugal that decided to make it his home.

Many of the best things to do in Cascais involve taking it slow, relaxing, and soaking in the breathtaking surroundings. If you happen to be the more adventurous type, you won't be disappointed either. From surfing, horse-riding to golfing or boating, Cascais delivers on every front.

But above all else, there is Portuguese Tapas chez Teresa
